Our aims are to expand the reach of young composers and artists, and connect and build a network of practitioners and listeners of new music.

Founded in June 2020 by Royal Birmingham Conservatoire postgraduate Zygmund de Somogyi, PRXLUDES is an online magazine and platform dedicated to the promotion, marketing, and development of young composers, artists, performers and practitioners of contemporary music styles.

Starting out as a series of online interviews with composers during the initial wave of the COVID-19 pandemic in the UK, PRXLUDES has expanded to create a network of artists, composers, and musicians from across the musical spectrum, breaking down the barriers of genre and medium, and transcending classical elitisms present in much of the contemporary music canon.

Since February 2021, PRXLUDES has been home to independent podcast Mental Music – discussing themes of mental health of those in music education and the wider music industry.
